Botanical name:  Achyranthes aspera Linn.

Action:

Diuretic, Astringent, Anti periodic

Uses:

Dropsy, jaundice, Anaemia, Swelling, Leucorrhoea, Bleeding piles, regulates menstruation

Parts used:

Whole plant

Method of preparation:

 Prepared as Decoction

Dosage:

20 to 35 ml

Duration:

40 days

Diet regimen:

Avoid spicy and sour food

Benefaction:

Seeds - For Piles (to be taken along with water used to clean rice)

Root- Cleans teeth and strengthens gums

Root ash - During child birth (to be taken along with palm jaggery)
