Cyclones

Details:

Introduction

Cyclone is a region of low atmospheric pressure surrounded by high atmospheric pressure resulting in swirling atmospheric disturbance accompanied by powerful winds.

They are caused by atmospheric disturbances around a low-pressure area distinguished by swift and often destructive air circulation. Cyclones are generally accompanied by violent storms and bad weather.

Do's & Dont's

1.Remove dead woods or dying trees close to the house; and other objects like loose tin sheds, garbage cans, which can fly in strong winds.

2.Keep a hurricane lantern filled with kerosene, battery operated torches and enough dry cells

3.Keep some dry non-perishable food always ready for emergency use

4.When your area is under cyclone warning get away from low-lying beaches or other low-lying areas close to the coast

5.Switch off electrical mains in your house

6. Remain calm
