Q. What is National Health Portal?
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India has set up the National Health Portal (NHP) to promote health literacy amongst a wide spectrum of users including general public, students, health care professionals and researchers. NHP aims to act as a first point of access for consolidated and authentic health information.
Q. How can I join National Health Portal?
It’s very easy to join National Health Portal. You can click on register; type in a username of your choice, your registered e-mail Id and captcha to sign up. Aadhar Card is not mandatory to sign up. You will receive a verification link on your mail, just verify the same and your account is created. To sign up, please click here.
Q. NHP is available in how many languages?
Currently, the information on NHP is available in six languages; English, Hindi, Punjabi, Guajarati, Tamil and Bangla. More Indian languages would be covered in the near future.
Q. What all health information is available on National Health Portal?
The NHP provides information on various topics ranging from handy health tips, disease based information, Government health policies and programs, health facilities around you, career options for students and other health related information. The information is broadly classified under - Healthy Lifestyle; Disease/Condition Information; Directory Services and Regulations; Professional Enhancement; AYUSH. Q. What is Voice web portal?
Voice web portal is an interactive voice recognition system where users can dial 24 X 7 toll free number 1800-180-1104 and get information on various issues related to health, diseases, lifestyle, First aid, directory services, health programs, policies, laws and guidelines. Currently the information is available in 5 languages namely English, Hindi, Tamil, Bangla and Gujarati but in future more Indian languages would be covered.
Q. What is e-blood Banking?
e-Blood Banking System has also been developed in association with NBTC /NACO. This allows users to search for licensed Blood Banks across India. For complete list, click here.
Q. What is NHP Health Directory Service Mobile App?
NHP Health Directory Service mobile application is a user friendly application that accesses the user location and enables a person to find nearby hospitals and blood banks. The user has the option of accessing the list of hospital/ blood banks by selecting the minimum distance of 5Kms and maximum distance up to 100Kms. The Android users can download this app from Google play store.
Q. What is mCessation programme?
This service aims to reach out to every single person who is willing to quite tobacco. Any tobacco user can register them by giving a missed call on 011-22901701 or by registering on http://www.nhp.gov.in/quit-tobacco for e-registration. Thereafter, a two way SMS process would begin.
