The Government of India (GoI) is committed to reducing child mortality and morbidity in the country by improving full immunization coverage through universal immunization programme (UIP) and introducing new and efficacious vaccines for vaccine preventable diseases (VPDs). The MoHFW, Govt. of India launched Mission Indradhanush in December 2014 as a special drive to vaccinate all unvaccinated and partially vaccinated children under UIP.
MoHFW under its egovernance initiatives and giving impetus to UIP has developed a mobile application “NHP Indradhanush”. The application provides detailed information about vaccines available in India and their schedule.
The “NHP Indradhanush” is designed to alert parents for their children vaccine who are up to 16 years of age. The vaccine schedule is configured automatically by providing the date of birth of the child. The user can register any number of Children for which he/she would like to get vaccination alerts. The user can also add any other vaccine, if recommended by the physician, to the reminder list.
The “NHP Indradhanush” is an Android based mobile application, which can be installed on any device with Android OS version 2.3 or above. The application will be launched soon for other popular platforms.
