Ta’reeq (Sweating or diaphoresis) is a natural means of excretion. It is a process used to accelerate the secretions of the sweat glands of the skin. Sweating is the release of liquid from the body's sweat glands, hence it helps the body to stay cool.
Hot fomentations (dry and wet), bathing with lukewarm water, hot massage (with or without oil) and keeping the patient in a room having hot air are some of the methods of diaphoresis.
The main objectives of Ta’reeq (Sweating) are:
Excretion of Mawaad-e- faasida (waste matters) from the skin, blood and other parts of the body
Reduction of the Haraarat-e- mufrit (excessive heat) of the body
Transfer or diversion of the morbid matters (Imala-e- mawaad-e- faasida) from one part of the body to another
Purification of the blood from wastes
Improvement of dermal nutrition and enhancement of the body texture
