World Health Day
World Health Day is observed every year on 7th April on the foundation day of World Health Organization (WHO). Every year a different theme is selected keeping in mind the global public health concern.
This year the theme will be diabetes, a non-communicable disease (NCD) which is affecting directly millions of people directly. Lack of knowledge about this disease, insufficient health facilities and unavailability of essential medicines can be a reason of complicate the disease such as blindness, amputation and renal failure.
There are two types of diabetes which is Type 1 is characterised by lack of insulin production and type 2 results from the body’s ineffective use of insulin.
